Concert Crave and Spacebar Recording brought an Artist Spotlight Showcase to House of Independents. There was 32 acts doing seven minutes each competing for some cool prizes including opening up for a headlining act.
I decided to check it out since I’m always looking for new and interesting music to cover. It was more crowded then I anticipated with the snow and brutal cold hitting the area. Each act had a hometown crowd of friends and family to root them on which was cool to see.
Make sure you check out Concert Crave and Spacebar Recording for all upcoming events

High in the Mid 80’s came to perform at Roxy and Dukes in Dunellen New Jersey. This show was a fundraiser hosted by the Jerzey Derby Brigade roller derby team.
High in the Mid 80’s is an 80’s dance band that performs all the greatest hits of one of the best era’s of music and fashion. With a costume contest in place the fans came dressed to impress.
It was a great night and a lot of fun, everyone was dancing the night away.
Up until Saturday night I had only heard about Mackenzie Brown but was very interested in hearing and seeing her perform. MACK as she is called in the music world had her EP release show at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. Her EP Balance is a collection of a few songs that really shows her rage as a young artist. She resides in New Jersey and works as a music instructor at the Lakehouse Music Academy which is home and work to many bands and musicians from the area. Mackenzie’s voice is extremely refreshing and has a cool stage performance as well as she was backed up with some seasoned local musicians. Her EP Balance is available on iTunes and spotify I totally recommend giving her tunes a listen.
