The Light of Day foundation has been put in place to help raise money for Parkinson’s disease ( http://www.lightofday.org/ ). Last year I was fortunate to be part of this great charity event and covered most of the local scene around town going back and forth from venue to venue trying to support as many bands as I could. This year I again was fortunate to cover the event only this year I was given access to the main event which turned out to be an amazing experience for me. Like in years past everyone awaits to see if the Boss himself shows up and jumps on stage to perform with some of the top musicians and bands that come out every year to support this great cause. after running around like crazy from The Wonder Bar to The Stone Pony to The Saint and back again day after day the main event was upon me. I went from doing some band shots of The Tangiers Blues Band featuring Danny Clinch to taking pictures of Bruce Springsteen and an amazing cast of musicians that included all the Asbury heavy hitters Southside Johnny, John Eddie, Joe D’Urso and so many more. Probably the most incredible moment I watched was Bob Benjamin on stage surround by Bruce Sprinsteen and everyone else thanking everyone involved with the foundation personally. Bob Benjamin is the founder of Light of Day and to see him up there trying to remember everyone’s name with the help of Bruce was heartwarming. I am so grateful and honored to be part of such a great event.
